DAY 01: Reception – City Tour + Nearby Ruins

Airport reception and transportation to selected hotel.

Morning free to acclimatize.

01:35 PM hrs aprox.

We’ll start with the city tour visiting the Cathedral where we will observe religious art and paintings from the Cusqueña School, then we will visit the temple of Q’oricancha actual Convent of Saint Dominic (Santo Domingo), whose interior is hosts one of the most important Religious Centers of the Inca’s age.

We’ll continue our tour towards 4 nearby ruins: Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo , Puca Pucara,

and Tambomachay. Sacsayhuamán is a majestic place with impressive works in stone, the heaviest one weighting 120 tons.  After that we’ll visit Q’enqo, religious center dedicated to the cult of Earth and, according to some theories, funeral rituals… We’ll continue towards Puca Pucara (Red Fortress) that used to be a military command center, and the last place we’ll visit will be Tambomachay (Water Temple) formerly used as a worship place and for the cult of water….. Return to Cusco

DAY 02: Machu Picchu with Train Expeditions

Breakfast in the hotel.

06:30 AM aprox. Pickup up from the hotel and transfer to the train station for a 4-hour trip to the town of Aguas Calientes (Hot Waters)… At the arrival our tour guy will take us in a bus for a 30 minutes, zigzag path toward the incredible citadel of Macchu Pichu… this part of the trip includes a guided tour visiting Plaza Principal (Principal Plaza), the Torre Circular (Circular Tower), the Sagrado Reloj Solar (Sacred Solar Clock ), the Cuartos Reales (Royal Quarters), the Templo de las Tres Ventanas (Temple of  Three Windows). After the guided tour you will have time to walk around the citadel. After that we will head to the town of Aguas Calientes (Hot Waters) for lunch. In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco. We should arrive around 9:00 PM (during high season train schedules are subject to change).

DIA 03: Last day and return to Lima
